He came to their community about 74 years ago at the age of 8 years, from High Hine, in Randolph. County where he was born. He was thought well of in his community and won the respect and admiration of, those who knew him. We believe we can say the sentiment of his friends. No kindlier man ever lived. The masons of Hardy-Howle Lodge at Delta, Ala. had charge of the last ceremonies and rendered a beautiful, impressive farewell service at the grave of their departed brother. Rev. S. J. Ingram, a former pastor, conducted an impressive funeral service from the church and Hon. John R. McCain also spoke words of admiration for his esteemed friend. [2] William Jasper Clark was born January 3, 1850, in Randolph County near High Pine, coming to Clay County at the age of seven was married to Margaret A. Cockrell October 21, 1869.
