Services for Mrs. Audrey T. Clarke, 56, of Heflin will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at 
Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Clay County with the Rev. James Duke officiating. 
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of 
Lineville in charge. Mrs. Clarke died Sunday at Birmingham Medical Center. 
Survivors Include a daughter, Mrs. Sue Higgins of Delta; four sons, Jimmy Clarke 
of Delta, Gene Clarke, Byron Clarke and Bill Clarke, all of Chulafinnee; five 
sisters, Mrs. Ruth Sparks and Mrs. Bertha Shaddix, both of Anniston, Mrs. Clyde 
Smith of LaGrange, Mrs. Leslie Haynie of Fort Lauderdale, and Mrs. Maurice 
Sprayberry of Delta; a brother, Clarence Rogers of Heflin; 14 grandchildren and 
a great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Clyde Brooks, Sonny Clarke, Garvis 
Ingram, Willard Clarke, Ted Mills and Charles Sprayberry. Honorary pallbearers 
will be nephews. Mrs. Clarke was a native of Clay County and she had lived in 
Clay and Cleburne counties all of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of 
Mount Moriah Baptist Church. The body will remain at the funeral home until one 
hour prior to services.
