Clarke, 62, of Heflin, Rt. 3, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Mount Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. James Duke and the Rev. Steve White officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville in charge. Mr. Clarke died Monday at Clay County Hospital after a long illness. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Audrey Clarke of Heflin; a daughter, Mrs. Sue Higgins of Delta; four sons, Jimmy Clarke of Delta, Gene Clarke and Byron Clark, both of Heflin and Bill Clark of Ahoskie, N.C. three sisters, Mrs. Eunice Tillison of Jacksonville, Mrs. Evelyn Lucas of Huntsville and Mrs. Evada Chapman of Lineville; two brothers, Ernest Clark of Delta and Emory Clarke of Anniston; 14 grandchildren and a greatgrandchild. Mr. Clarke was a native of Jacksonville and had been a resident of Cleburne County for 12 years. He was a retired merchant and veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Mount Moriah Baptist Church. The body will remain at the funeral home until time of services.
