John was nearing his twenty first year. He professed hope in Christ in his early teens, joined the Hatchett Creek Baptist church, and lived a life of service till his death. John was loved by the young people and was a leader. He was president of the young people's union at his church. The older people feel they have lost a real Christian comrade. He was beloved by all for his sweetness of nature and endearing personality. He leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Clayton of Coleta; four sisters, Elenar and Dorothy of Orlando, Fla. Virginia and Clio of Coleta; two brothers, Printis of University, Fla. and Tilman of Coleta also a host of relatives and friends. The funeral services were conducted from Bethlehem church. His pastor, Rev. W. R. Ingram in charge, and Rev. the Methodist minister, paid many beautiful tributes to the deceased and his family. We extend to his parents, brothers and sisters our deepest sympathy in this dark hour, but only God can give peace to their sad hearts. It was so sudden our lips said, but we know he is rejoicing with the angels in heaven.
