D. (Dilly) Cockrell, 88, at the Service Funeral Home in Sylacauga Sunday, Feb. 12, at 2 o'clock. Mrs. Cockrell died Saturday at Sylacauga Hospital following an illness of several days. Mrs. Cockrell had lived in Clay County most of her life and had many relatives here. She had resided with her daughter, Mrs. Mattie Lee Jones, in Sylacauga for the past 25 years. She is survived by one son, Joseph Cockrell, Birmingham, and one daughter, Mrs. Mattie Lee Jones, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Burial was in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery Sunday afternoon near Delta. Mrs. Cockrell was an active member of the Eastern Star and Baptist Church. A daughter, age 16, preceded her in death. The Rev, W. K. Weaver, J. B. Jackson, Rev. Elder Bates, Ben W. Mathews and Robert Ingram officiated. Pallbearers were Coy Payne, W. C. Dempsey, Bryan Ingram, Shelton Arel Ingram and Winford Ingram.
