Funeral services were held November 20, 2:00 p.m. at the Delta Baptist Church, with Jones Funeral Home of Anniston in charge. Rev. J. R. Steele, Rev. B. W. Mathews and Rev. W. R. Ingram officiated. Mr. Cockrell was born Feb. 21, 1869. He was married to Lavonia Durrett in 1893. To this union was born nine children. His wife and two children preceded him in death. Mr. Cockrell is survived by five sons and two daughters, A. P. Cockrell, Mrs. Lola Randall, Q. D. Cockrell, Birmingham, A. J. Cockrell, Enterprise, Mrs. P. M. Langston, Montgomery, D. L. Cockrell, Memphis, Tenn., and Webster Cockrell of Lineville. Pallbearers were John Character, Hardy Currie, Stafford Cook, Ermond Knight, Talmadge Evans and Lavoy Allen.
