Services for Thomas E. "Gene" Colburn, 82, of Lineville will be today at 1 p.m. 
at Benefield Funeral Home Chapel in Lineville with Rev. Zenus Windsor 
officiating. Burial will be in Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will 
receive friends at the funeral home until service time. Mr. Colburn died 
Thursday at Lineville Nursing & Rehab Center. Survivors include his wife, Vodie 
Colburn; a daughter, Teresa Diane Henry of Talladega; three sons, Larry Colburn 
and Jeff Colburn, both of Lineville, and Mike Colburn of Manning, S.C.; two 
stepsons, Jerry Jackson of Orlando, Fla., and Paul Jackson of Lay Port, Texas; 
nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Colburn, a Russellville 
native, had lived most of his life in Clay County. He was a member of Bellview 
Baptist Church. An Army veteran, he received a Purple Heart and retired from the 
civil service at Fort McClellan as Director of Facility Engineers, Electrical 
Division. He was a member of Lineville Masonic Lodge 219 F&AM, Disabled American 
Veterans and the American Legion.
