Lineville Headlight
On March 16th of this ye r the death summons came for John H. Cole. He answered 
this summons quietly and his spirit passed from this earth to a fuller, richer 
life. Brother Cole was born in Clay County on March 15th. 1872. He joined the M. 
E. Church, South it the age of sixteen. Of this church he was a faithful member 
at his death. He married Fannie Ingram Nov. 1897. To this union there was born 
one child. Eunice, now Mrs. B. H, Hudson. This noble Christian gentleman 
trustworthy citizen, accommodating neighbor, true friend and kind and 
affectionate husband and father, leaves to mourn for his seemingly untimely 
death, his wife, daughter, lather, two brothers and a host of relatives and 
friends. He has left the impression of his sterling worth upon those who knew 
him. For a number of years, he cared for his aged father and mother. A greater 
work can uo boy or girl do. He was faithful to his family and provided well for 
them. Brother Cole was faithful to his friends, church and pastor. He will be 
missed by a great number of friends, but most of all by his wife and daughter 
who loved him and was faithful unto the last. After the appropriate funeral 
services conducted by his pastor Rev. Smith, in which. Judge F. J. Ingram, Revs. 
B. R. Layton, Dunn and W, R. Ingram took part. His body was laid to rest in 
Blacks Chapel cemetery there to await the resurrection. We commend the bereaved 
family to our God and his Christ whom we love and who are able to comfort and 
soothe our broken spirits in all our sorrows. Remember that he always cares for 
you. A friend.
