Cole, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Ingram was born in north Clay County, Alabama January 10, 1876, and died at her home on the Delta Highway, July 8, 1928, thus living a mortal life of 52 years 5 months and 28 days, she was united in marriage to John H. Cole Nov. 30, 1897. In that marriage there was the bringing together members of two of the most. prominent families of north Clay. Mrs. Cole had a number of brothers and sisters, most of whom yet live in and around Delta Alabama. Her husband John H. Cole was the youngest son of the late Anderson Cole who lived to the ripe age of ninety or more. He died but a few months ago. . . Mrs. Cole's husband preceded her to the grave a few years. There was born and reared to Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Cole only one daughter, Eunice, wife of B.H. Hudson. Mrs. Cole was reared by parents who believed in bringing up their children in the right way. She was early taught the lessons of modesty, industry, home making and home preserving and to that great and important task she gave her energies when she became mistress of a home of her own. She was educated in the schools in Delta and that community. Early in her girlhood life she was converted and joined the Delta Baptist church but after her marriage to J.H. Cole he being a member of the Methodist Church at Black's Chapel, she went with her husband to his church to which she remained a loyal and faithful member until her death. Most or all of her people were pious, church people, as were those of her husband. It was not the writer's privilege to know Mrs. Cole so well personally, although we knew her and have known her people on both sides since we were a small boy........... John R.
