Conoway, 58, passed away suddenly at the residence near Cragford at 4:00 o'clock Saturday morning, October 27. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Dona Conaway; seven daughters: Mrs. J. O. Burson, of Cragford, Mrs. C. H. Thrasher, of Heflin, Mrs. H. H. Thrasher, of Ensley, Mrs. C. C. Vickers, of Talladega, Miss Glayce Conaway, of Riverview, and Misses Cenila and Bettye Conaway, of Cragford; one son, Charles Crayton Conaway, of Cragford; two brothers: B. D. and W. J. Conaway; eight sisters: Mrs. J. E. Freeman, Mrs. J. M. McDaniel, Mrs. W. D. Freeman, Mrs. W. B. Seymour, Mrs. W. B. Freeman, Mrs. C. E. McCul, Mrs. L. D. Greenwood, and Mrs. W. R. Wilson. There is also a sister missing, Mrs. J. A. Morgan, address unknown. Funeral services were held from the Cragford Baptist Church at 2:30 Sunday afternoon, the Rev. J. D. Pickens, S. C. Ray, C. B. Martin, W. B. Denney, and the Rev. H. B. Yates officiating. Interment was in the Cragford cemetery, Roanoke Funeral Home directing.
