Ashland Progress
Final rites for Mrs. Lula Cotney were held at Cragford Baptist Church on Oct. 16, 
conducted by Rev. W. Burell and Rev. Robert Ingram. Interment was in Cragford 
Cemetery with Blair Funeral Directors in charge. Pallbearers were Donald Haynes, 
Dewey Goodwin, Leon Goodwin, Barry Cotney, Roger Hunter, Lavelle Horne. Mrs. 
Cotney passed away in Sylacauga Hospital on the morning of Oct. 14th. She was a 
native of Clay County but was residing in Talladega County at the time of her 
passing. Survivors include five daughters: Mrs. Clayton Haynes, Mrs. Rupert 
Stewart, Mrs. M. L. Garrett, Mrs. George Hunter and Mrs. Merrial Horne. Three 
sons: C.E. Cotney, J. D. Cotney, J. H. Cotney and a large number of grandchildren 
and great-grandchildren.
