Ashland Progress
Mrs. J. A Cox died at her home five and a half miles west Ashland Thursday Feb 
22, after a lingering illness, and her remains were buried in the Liberty 
cemetery. She was a lifelong resident the county and was near 67 years of age. 
She had been living at the old family homestead where she died, the greater part 
of her life, having moved there threw years prior to the beginning of the Civil 
war. During practically all this time she had been a faithful member of Liberty 
Baptist church. Her Husband J.A. Cox, and two sons, T.B. and Smoot Cox, survive 
her.
