R. C. Crawford and his wife, negroes, being the victims. Crawford and his wife were living in the house with another family of negroes on the J. H. Riley farm and when some disagreement arose between them Saturday night the Crawford woman left the house and went to the home of L. R. Royster, a short distance away. Crawford in a fit of anger followed and induced her to start back with him and later her lifeless body was found on the roadside. She had been shot and her head beaten up, presumably with the gun, the barrel of which was bent, and the stock broken and blood stained. Crawford went back to the house and got another gun with which he is supposed to have shot himself his his body was found a short distance away, shot in the head. Additional Comments: R.C. Crawford married Rosie Bishop she was the daughter of James Bishop & Rachel Lee. Her death cert states she was buried in the Lineville Colored Cemetery.
