Burial will be in Clay County Memory Gardens with Clay County Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends beginning at 6 p.m. tonight at the funeral home. Mrs. Creed died Saturday at Clay County Hospital. Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Judy and James Wesley Brooks of Ashland; a sister, Mary Etheridge of Russellville, Ark.; three brothers, Wendell and Cathy French of Hillsboro, Norman and Evelyn French of Abilene, Texas, and Marvin French of Dallas; a grandson and his wife, Lance and Carmen Brooks; and three great- grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Donald Harris, Dwight Harris, Glen Harris, Michael Creed, Aaron Creed and George Brooks. Mrs. Creed was a native of Decatur and a 1942 graduate of Hazlewood High School. She moved to Ashland with her husband, Merrell Creed, in 1946. She retired from Higgins Manufacturing Company, where she worked 25 years. She attended Ashland Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrell Creed; and two sisters, Earlene Rigsby and Sue Morris.
