M. Croley died at her home near Delta on Thursday, August 31st, after an illness of over three months, and her remains were laid to rest in the Good Hope cemetery Friday, September 1st. At the time of her death the deceased was about 49 years of age. She was a member of the Baptist church, was, a Christian and true to every relation of life. Our community in her death suffers an irreparable loss. She was an example of a moral, clean Christian, battling at all times for justice and right. We shall greatly miss her in our homes and in the community. Her friends were many and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She is survived by a husband, two children, her mother, Mrs. Knight, and sister, Mrs. Yates, both of Daviston, and many other relatives. Dear children, let us mane life pleasant, as did your mother, and soon you shall meet her in a brighter home where there comes no sorrow or pain, but will ever be at rest in Jesus. A Friend. [2] On August 21st at 10:18 o'clock the Death Angel entered the home of Mr. F. G. Croley and bore away in his strong grasp the loving wife and mother of the home. Mrs. Croley was ill almost five months, and after friends and physicians had done all in their power to restore her health, she passed joyously into that home not made with hands, where there will be no more sorrow or suffering. And as we bow in humble submission to the will of Him who doeth all things well, we should not weep, for our loss is her eternal gain. Though mother's place in the home can never be filled, and you will miss her gentle guidance down the path of life, rejoice in the fact that she died in the full glory of a risen Redeemer, and that to her death was only a dream. Mrs. Croley was indeed a sweet woman, kind and affectionate to all, and none knew her but to love her. Many tears were shed as friends and relatives stopped for one last caress or one parting kiss ere her from was borne away. The funeral services were conducted by Rev, W. B. Jones, of Pyriton, at Good Hope Church, near Delta; and many were the friends who gathered at the church to pay her their last tribute of respect. The deceased survived by her mother, sister, husband and two children. May God's richest blessings rest upon those who mourn for her, is the sincere wish of the writer. Her Niece.
