T. Cruise one of the oldest citizens of the county died at his home about a mile South of Ashland Tuesday afternoon. He was four score years of age and one of the pioneer settlers of this community. We are told that he took part in the organization of the Ashland Baptist church. He had been seriously ill for several weeks, and his death had been expected for some days. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. F. J. Ingram and the remains of the deceased were buried at Olive Branch cemetery Thursday. Thus another name is stricken from the ever- lessening roll of our old settlers and a solitary woman in the sunset of life, and a lonely home, are left to attest how sadly his presence will be. missed.
