Anniston Star
Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. J. N. Cruise, 88, at the Macedonia 
Baptist Church Elder B. Finley and Elder H. H. Goodman officiated. Interment was 
in the Macedonia cemetery. Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke, was in charge. Mrs. 
Cruise was born in Clay County and had lived here all her life. She had lived 
near Ashland for many years. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. J. B. 
Carpenter, Ashland. Mrs. L.J. Hampton Oakland Calif. Mrs. W. H. Fitzgerald, Los 
Angeles, Calif, Mrs. E. T. McKay, Roanoke; four sons, E.C. Cruise, Ashland, E.L. 
Cruise Rt. 1, Ashland, J. G. Cruise, Anniston, and C. N. Cruise Oakland, Calif, 
several, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her husband proceeded her in 
death last year following a marriage of 68 years.
