Ashland Progress
Elston Cabot Cruise of Ashland Rt. 1, age 56, passed away at his home Sunday. 
Dec. 6, at 3 a.m. Mr. Cruise is survived by two brothers. E. J. of Ashland and 
C.N. of Hayward, four sisters, Mrs. J. L. Hampton of Oakland Calif, Mrs. B. 
Carpenter of Ashland. Mrs. T. McKay of Roanoke, and Mrs. W. D. Fitzgerald, 
Anaheim, Calif. Funeral services for Mr. Cruise were conducted at two o'clock 
Tuesday afternoon from Macedonia Church, by Mr. B. B. Finley. Burial was in the 
church cemetery, with Quattlebaum's Brown Service of Roanoke in charge of 
arrangements. Pallbearers were H. L. White. E. D. Riley, Earl Burroughs, Morris 
Willis, Harwell Bolt. J. C. Carpenter.
