J. L. Chambliss officiating. Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery in Clay County with Usrey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Cruise, a retired employee of Alabama Pipe Company, had resided in Anniston for 38 years, having been a native of Clay County. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Molly Cruise; three sons, M. A. of Wellington, J. E. of Anniston, and J. G. Jr. of Anniston; three brothers, Comer of Oakland, Leon and Elston of Ashland; four sisters, Mrs. Clara McKay of Roanoke, Mrs. Mable Carpenter of Ashland, Mrs. Alva Hampton of Oakland, and Mrs. Ruby Fitzgerald of Los Angeles. California. Active pallbearers were Idas, Hollis, H. N. Blackburn, J. H. Bolt, Bud Underwood, Joe Scott, and Tom Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers were B. P. Simpson, C. R. Howard, Onea Bean, John Hudgins, Herman Walace and Arthur Bolt.
