Anniston Star
Mrs. Mary Dean Darby, 63, died last night at the residence, Oxford, Rt 2. She 
had been ill for about a year. A resident of the Anniston area for many was 
owner of Economy Upholstery Company and a member of the Church of Christ. 
Funeral rites will be conduct ed at Usrey's Chapel Wednesday morning at 11 
o'clock. There will be another service at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the 
Pleasant Grove Church of Christ Rev. H. L. Conner will officiate. Burial will be 
in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at Usrey's Chapel until the 
services. Mrs. Darby is survived by one son, W. H. Dean Oxford; daughter, Mrs. 
H. G. Deverell, Oxford, Rt her mother, Mrs. S. C. Bryant Talladega; three 
sisters Mrs. Or G. Paschal, An A. L. Hudgins, Ashland, and Mrs. J. D. Massey, 
Birmingham; four brothers, W. A. T. and B. F. Bryant, all of Talladega, and 
Cleve Bryant, Ashland; three stepsons H. L. and E. M. Darby, both of Anniston, 
and Wilson C. Darby, Fort Bragg N.C., five stepdaughters, Mr. E. O. Wesson, 
Sylacauga; Mr. Sue Sullivan, Oxford, Ohio; Mr. Jos Rogers and Mrs. W. W. Webb, 
both of St Augustine, and Miss Jean Darby, Anniston; three grandchildren, Mrs. 
C. O. Fondren, San Diego, Calif, Miss Ruby Waldrop, Mrs. Howard Anderson 
Anniston, and two great-grandchildren.
