Ashland Progress
The body of Joseph W. Daugherty, 67, who died at his home in Anniston Sunday 
morning was brought to Ashland for interment and laid to rest in the city 
cemetery with Masonic honors, Monday afternoon. Funeral services had been held at 
the home in Anniston. The deceased was a well-known citizen of Anniston, but 
before taking up his residence there about twenty years ago he resided in Ashland 
some time and his wife died during his residence here. He is survived by one 
daughter, Miss Mandy Daugherty, and by two brothers and four sisters it was 
learned. A large group of relatives and friends composed the funeral party 
accompanying the remains. The service held in Anniston was conducted by Rev. L. 
N. Claxton, Baptist pastor.
