Ashland Progress
Mr. Gilbert Franklin Daugherty, age 64, a resident of Delta, Rt. 2, passed away 
in Clay County Hospital on Nov. 13, 1959. Funeral services for Mr. Daugherty were 
held Nov. 15 at Mt. Moriah Church, with the Revs. Daniel, Akins, Sprayberry and 
Pesnell conducting. Blair Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Surviving 
besides his wife, Mrs. G. F. Daugherty, are: six sons C. F., H. R., G. L., J. W., 
A. L. and C. E. Daugherty; four daughters Mrs. Cora Brooks, Mrs. Irene Key, Mrs. 
Lois Brooks, Mrs. Annie Lee Luker; two brothers two sisters, and two stepsisters. 
Pallbearers were John, Knox, Oscar and Martin Brooks; Zeke Strickland and Elbert 
Strickland.
