Ashland Progress
Funeral services for Roland Asbury Daugherty, 66, were held at the Shiloh Delta 
Baptist Church Sunday afternoon, with the Elder B. B. Finley officiating. Burial 
was in the church cemetery with Blair Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Daugherty died 
at his home after an illness of several months. Mr. Daugherty had lived in Clay 
County all his life and had farmed until several years ago in the Delta 
community. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Summerlin Daugherty; a daughter, 
Mrs. Jewell Crawford, Delta, Rt. 1; two sons, Pascal Daugherty and Ellis Buford 
Daugherty, Delta Rt. 1; a sister, Mrs. Cindy Peacock, and three half-sisters, 
Mrs. Velma Davis, Mrs. Alma Blair, and Mrs. Bell Phillips.
