Anniston Star
Services for Jake R. Daugherty, 74, of Lineville, Rt. 1, were today at Benefield 
Funeral Home of Lineville chapel with the Rev. L.C. Harris officiating. Burial 
was in Shiloh Delta Cemetery. Mr. Daugherty died Wednesday at Golden Springs 
Health Care Center. Survivors include four sisters, Ms. Ila Mae Spears of Delta, 
Ms. Erzula Spears of Anniston, Mrs. Moree Summerlin and Mrs. Addie Wood, both of 
Lineville; three brothers, Cleman Daugherty and John M. Daugherty, both of 
Lineville and James A. Daugherty of Lanett; and several nieces and nephews. 
Pallbearers were Wayne Johnson, Rayford Daugherty, Norman Spears, Arnold Spears, 
L.V. Summerlin, Johnny Summerlin and Dwight Johnson. Mr. Daugherty, a Clay 
County native and lifelong resident, was a veteran of World War II and retired 
from Higgins Co. in Lineville.
