Services for Cecil Franklin Daugherty. 77. of Ashland, will be today at 3 p.m. 
at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Duke and the Rev. Bill 
Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Benefield 
Funeral Home of Lineville in charge of arrangements. The body will be at the 
funeral home until an hour before the service. Mr. Daugherty died Thursday at 
Clay County Hospital. He is survived by his wife. Gay Nell Daugherty: three 
daughters. Essie Gay Gazaway of Hogansville. Ga. Sarah Jean Carden of LaGrange. 
Ga. and Violet Inez Shelton of Rossville. Ga a son. James Franklin Daugherty of 
Fairfax. Va.; three sisters. Cora Brooks and Lois Brooks, both of Anniston. and 
Annie Lee Luker of Pelham. three brothers. Rob Daugherty of Lineville. Gilbert 
"Bud" Daugherty of Munford and Albert Lee Daugherty of Delta: 17 grandchildren: 
and seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Melvin Bolt. Joey Daugherty. 
Ronald Wayne Daugherty. Dwight Daugherty. Butch Luker and Junior Morrison. Mr. 
Daugherty. a former resident of Calhoun County, was a native of Clay County and 
a member of First Baptist Church of Lineville.
