Funeral services were conducted Sunday for John H. Davis, 80, at the Concord 
Baptist Church Mr. Davis died at the home of his daughter. Mrs. Sprayberry. 
Friday night, January 13, following a long illness. The Revs. Dee Hurst. Mason 
and McKinsey officiated. Blair Funeral Home was in charge and burial was in the 
church cemetery. Mr. Davis had been a merchant in Pyriton for many years before 
his retirement several years ago. He also was a farmer. He is survived by three 
sons, Harlan Davis, Sycamore; Hollis Davis, Bemiston; E. A. Davis. Rt. 3, 
Lineville; four daughters, Mrs. Paul Thompson Munford, Mrs. Lola Kirk Rt. 3, 
Lineville; Mrs. A. S. Sprayberry, Rt. 3. Lineville; Mrs. P. G Sailors, Talladega, 
and a large number of grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
