Services for Mrs. Emma S. Davis, 83, of Ashland will be today at 11 a.m. at 
Benefield Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. W.E. Mattox officiating. Burial will 
be in Lystra Cemetery near Ashland with Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville in 
charge. Mrs. Davis died Thursday at Clay County Hospital after a long illness. 
Survivors include her husband, Jim Davis of Ashland; four daughters, Mrs. Billie 
Mae Collier and Mrs. Faye Huff, both of, Ashland, Mrs. Bernice McGillvery of 
Jacksonville, and Mrs. Jean Clemmons of Birmingham; two sons, A.V. Davis of 
Talladega, and J. C. Davis of Ashland; a brother, Dawson Smith of Dadeville; 27 
grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. 
Pallbearers will be grandsons. Mrs. Davis was a native of Clay County, a 
homemaker and a member of Lystra Baptist Church.
