Clay County Advance
Mrs. M. J. Dawkins wife of W. D. Dawkins departed this life on the 15 day of 
November 1894. She leaves three children and host of friends to mourn her loss. 
In her death the children have lost a fond and affectionate mother the community 
a good worker in every noble cause and the church a model Christian. She has 
gone to her long-sought home for a joyful rest. She was born in Tallapoosa 
County Alabama October 8, 1855, and in 1869 she moved near Mellow Valley Ala. 
where she spent the remainder or her useful life, in 1873 she joined the Baptist 
church at County line and a few years later she moved her membership Wesobugla 
where she was a member in good standing at the time of her death. Many we all 
strive to emulate her lovely character and daily Christian walk and at last he 
per mitted to enjoy with her the reward of the finally faithful. From a Friend
