His health began failing about five years ago and he had been unable to get out of his house since November, 1926, and confined to his bed continously since January. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. G. M. Bynum, pastor of the Lineville Methodist Church, were held Wednesday morning and the remains were interred in the Campbell's Cross Roads cemetery. The deceased was the father of our townsman, J. B. Dean. Three other sons, Walter, Wesley, and Luther Dean, and three daughters, Mrs. Jno. W. Carpenter, Mrs. C. W. Hudson and Mrs. R. S. Finch, also his widow, survive him. In the passing of Mr. Dean the county loses one of its best citizens.
