Clay County Watchman
Departed this life Sept, l6th, 1887 Marthy Dempsey, wife of F. M. Dempsey. She 
lived a Christian life and a devoted member of the church of Christ. Aged 42 
years. She had been married to Mr. Dempsey seven years. She made him a loving 
companion, a devoted mother to his children. Her Christian needs will, be missed 
by the family She leaves a large circle of sympathizing friends. Our loss is her 
gain. Her sickness was brief twenty-two hours. Her remains were borne to the 
cemetery by relatives and friends. We the made her farewell till we shall meet 
her at God's right hand where there are no more grief, sorrow, pain and 
suffering. There all will he well. She through life's ills and trials did her 
spirit prove. Through the sunset golden portal, Comes the messenger of love, one 
by one our friends pass over, To the bright and peaceful shore; And they join in 
glad surprise, The glorious Anthem of the skies. Miss. K.A.N.
