Anniston Star
Fred Merrill Dempsey, 14, died Sunday at 12:05 a. m. at the residence, 124 East 
16th Street. Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Concord Baptist 
Church near Lineville, with the Rev. Horace Homesley and the Rev. Forrest Dishman 
officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Jones in charge. Survivors 
include the father, Thomas H. Dempsey; and two sisters, Mrs. Wynell Brooks and 
Miss Mary Frank Dempsey. Pallbearers were: Boyce Cook, Charlie Butler Mickey 
McCarley Lamar Beck, John Hanna and Billy Newsome.
