James Monroe Duffey, age 92, father of Mrs. Len Haynes of this City, passed away 
at Traylor's Nursing Home here on Thursday, July 2. A native of Cleburne County 
where he was a well-known retired farmer and merchant of the Barfield community, 
Mr. Duffey had been a resident of Traylor's "Nursing Home for the past 8 months. 
Funeral services were held from the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Barfield, Ala., 
on Friday, July 3 at 3:00 p.m. with interment in Barfield cemetery. Johnson & 
Sanders Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Surviving besides Mrs. Haynes 
are two other daughters, Mrs. Darsey Hill, Ashland, Ala., and Mrs. Furman Worthy, 
Anniston, Ala.; one son, Hall C. Duffey, Sr Rome, Ga.

Note: Mt. Pleasant Church is not Barfield Baptist Church.
