Clay County Advance
On January 15th the home of Mrs. Mary Pugh was made doubly sad by the death of 
her dear devoted sister, Miss Elizabeth East. "Dear sister, thou art gone from me 
but the separation will not be long. I feel that thou art gone to welcome me to 
the better land, Thou art gone to rest with our aged parents and other loved ones 
gone before Miss you, ah yes at every nook and turn of home. Such sweet sister 
love strengthening with each year of our pilgrimage here, Thou did never forsake 
me even in my sorest trials. You lived a beautiful life constantly helping others 
with so little thought for yourself. Thou wast my constant solace in hours of 
deepest sorrow.......
