Ashland Progress
M. C. Elliott "Uncle Bud," age 78, a life-long citizen of the county, died at his 
home in the Macedonia community early this morning. Funeral services will be held 
at the Macedonia Primitive church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Elder B. B. 
Finley in charge. Besides the widow the deceased is survived by four sons, Marvin 
of Purvis, Pearce, Otis, Ethridge and Lowell of Ashland, Route 1, and two 
daughters, Mrs. Robert Mellon of Ashland, Route 1, and Mrs. W. Pogue of High 
Point, Also the following brothers, Ed, Gregg and Jim Elliott and two sisters. 
Mrs. Clem Beck and Mrs. Bud Gillem, survive.
