Ashland Progress
Final rites for Mrs. Willie Lee Elliott, Ashland Rt. 1, were held at Olive Branch 
Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Feb. 9th, conducted! by Rev. A. O. Burdette, Judge W. 
B. Nolen and Elder H. Goodman. Interment was in Macedonia Cemetery with Blair 
Funeral Directors in charge. Honorary pallbearers were J. E. Moon, W. E. 
Carpenter, G. C. Pace, Joe Burroughs, K. J. White, C. M. Pruet, George House, 
Pinkney Dison. Active pallbearers were Harold Avery, John Price, Lavelle Elliott, 
Sam Bonner, Durwood Elliott, Tom Kelly. Mrs. Elliott passed away suddenly at her 
home on Feb. 8th at the age of 80. Survivors include four sons, Gay, Ashland Rt. 
George, Childersburg; LaFayette, Bham; and Willie Demopolis. Five grandchildren 
and quite a number of other relatives.
