Ashland Progess
H. F. Evans, one of Clay Countys old and highly esteemed citizens, died at his 
home near Barfield Thursday, Jan. 29th, and his remains were interred in Blacks 
chapel burying ground Friday. The deceased was a veteran of the Civil War and was 
80 years of age. In his passing the county loses one of its interesting old 
citizens and one who -id an abiding interest in the history of the South with 
which as a soldier he was closely connected.
