Anniston Star
Earl F. Shirey, 70, of Lineville were today at Clay County Funeral Home with 
Revs. Marion Hill and Ronnie Burroughs officiating. Burial was in Concord Baptist 
Church Cemetery. Mr. Shirey died Saturday at Clay County Hospital. Survivors 
include his wife, Pamela Shirey of Lineville; five sisters, Nettie Pearl Hardin, 
Nonnie Ward and Glendora Brown, all of Birmingham, Eunice Gordon of Lake Placid, 
Fla., and Imogene Evans of Alabaster.  Pallbearers were William Harrell, Bart 
Brown, Claude Webber, Raymond Brown, Eugene Evans and Jan Webber. A Clay County 
native, Mr. Shirey had lived in Chattanooga before returning to Clay County. He 
served in the Merchant Marine Corps during World War II. was retired owner and 
operator of Shirey Paint Co., where he had worked for 34 years.
