Ashland Progress
Mrs. Hassie Joiner Fargason, 93, died Monday at her home in Mellow Valley. Mrs. 
Fargason was born Oct. 9, 1854. She joined the Baptist church over 70 years ago. 
She was preceded in death by her husband ten years ago. Services were held 
Tuesday afternoon at Mellow Valley High School auditorium. Rev. Grady Birchfield, 
Rev. J. D. Pickens and Judge W. B. Nolen officiated with Blair directing. 
Pallbearers were Rube Dennam, Jim L. Fulbright, Crayton Kennedy, Boss Jordan, W. 
V. McClain and Ed Hodnett. She is survived by two sons, Walt and Durell Fargason, 
two daughters, Mrs. Luther McClain and Miss Leila Fargason.
