Ashland Progress
James Briton Farrow was born May 10, 1881 and died July 16, 1946, at the age of 
65 years, 2 months, and 6 days. He was survived by his wife, two brothers, three 
sisters, one granddaughter, three grandsons, and a host of friends. He was the 
son of W. M. and Eliza Martin Farrow both of whom preceded him in death. He 
united with the Baptist church at New Hope about 25 years ago and lived a devoted 
Christan until his death. Funeral services were conducted by Reverend J. W. Dean 
of Cragford assisted by Reverends O. D. Parker of Pyriton, C. W. Whitley of 
Malone and C. B. Martin of Lineville. Pallbearers were W. A. Farrow, Freddie 
Farrow, Voyen Farrow, Hoyt Lacy, Alvin Caldwell, and Corbin Farrow. Blair 
directing.
