Anniston Star
Mrs. Katie Clara Forbes, 51, of 315 Christine Anniston, died Sunday at Anniston 
Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at 
St. John United Methodist Church with Dr. C. J. Booker and the Rev. S. Joe 
Elmore officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Ashland, with 
Ervin Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include her husband the Rev. John W. 
Forbes; four daughters, Mrs. Barbara A. Wilson, Carolyn Staples and Mrs. Delores 
Birdsong, all of Anniston, and Mrs. Patricia Gallagher of Key West, Fla. two 
sisters, Mrs. Maudine Heard of Ashland, and Mrs. Annie Phillips of Detroit, 
three brothers, Sam Pruett of Fort Pierce, Dudley Pruett of Ashland, and James 
E. Pruett of Decher, and seven grandchildren. Officers of St. John's United 
Methodist Church will be pallbearers. The body will remain at the funeral home 
until one hour prior to services.

Note: There is no cemetery at Pleasant Grove Church in Ashland. She was buried 
in Old Field Cemetery, Ashland, Clay County, AL.
