Ashland Progress
Mr. Dee Forbus, a resident of Delta, died at Clay County Hospital, January 6, 
1961. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Dee Hurst, Rev. Roy Carpenter 
and Rev. A. A. Jacobs at Delta Baptist Church Sunday, January 8, 1961. Blair 
Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Mittie 
H. Forbus; four daughters, Mrs. Nora Lee Thomas, Mrs. Nattie Jane Carpenter 
Anniston, Mrs. Nobie Louise Mitchell, Ashland, Mrs. Mary Catherine Mitchell, 
Talladega; two sons, J. T. and K. V. Forbus, Anniston; one sister, Mrs. Mollie 
Harris, Delta; two brothers, Jessie Forbus, Lineville, Ed Forbus, Anniston; 13 
grandchildren; two great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Albert and Johnny 
Forbus, Chester and Calvin Harris Jr, Lester Bishop, Willard Character.
