C. Ford was terribly turned at her home, two miles east of Lineville, last Friday and she died Monday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock. Her clothing caught fire while she was boiling water preparatory to cleaning up the home. Members of the family were at home and did what they could to extinguish the flames with their hands. A negro man who heard the screams ran to the home and dashed a tub of water, on the flames, but Mrs. Ford was so badly burned that little hopes were held out for her recovery. The deceased was a member of Baptist church, was a good woman, devoted to her home, her husband and children. She was about 53 years old and is survived by her husband and eight children. The funeral services were held at the home Tuesday morning and were conducted by Rev. J. H. Oakley. Her remains were laid to rest in the Lineville cemetery. The entire community deeply sympathize with Mr. Ford and his family in the sore bereavement that has befallen them.
