Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Wm B. Freeman, 70. at the New Hope 
Baptist Church Wednesday. The Rev. Reuben Birchfield, C. W. Gregg and Guy 
Bassett officiated. Blair Funeral Home was in charge and interment was in the 
New Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Freeman died at the Clay County Hospital Monday 
following an illness of several years. She had lived in Clay County all her life 
and had been a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, for many years. She is 
survived by her husband, William Barto Freeman, Rt. 1, Ashland, whom she married 
52 years ago; two daughters, Mrs. C. P. Cummings, Cragford, Mrs. William H. 
Garner. Roanoke: one son, Boyd D. Freeman, Rt 1, Ashland; seven grandchildren 
and five great grandchildren. Pallbearers were G. H. Estes, Clyde Mayo, W. L. 
Freeman. J. D. Freeman, Harold McCue and William McCue.
