Ashland, April 8. (Special.) In an altercation in Shinbone Valley about fifteen 
miles north of this place on Sunday, the 31st of March, Columbus Fulton, a 
married man about 29 years old was slabbed by his cousin, Willis Watts, a single 
man of 18 years. The knife entered the base of the neck from behind, partly 
severing the spinal cord, producing paralysis. Fulton lingered until Saturday, 
when he died. Watts was brought here yesterday and placed in jail. The difficulty 
grew out of some trouble some other member of the family had had a few days 
previous.
