Lineville Headlight
Mr. William W. Gaines, son of Mr. Robert A. Gaines. of he was known as "Willie 
Gaines" by many friends, here, death was chronicled at the time it occurred in 
the columns of this paper, had moved from Lineville to Arab, Marshall County, 
about one year ago. Apparently as well as common, be left his home early in the 
morning to transact some business with a neighbor who lived on an adjoining 
plantation telling his wife that he would probably visit another place before 
returning home. When he failed to return late in the afternoon, his wife became 
alarmed and a search was instituted with the result that his body was found in a 
by path on his plantation where he had fallen some hours before, evidently from 
a sudden attack of heart failure. His remains were brought here and in the 
presence of a large number of sorrowing relatives and friends were buried in the 
Lineville cemetery. The gloom of this sorrow and death has been since 
intensified in the hearts and homes of Mr. Gaines and family by another almost 
as sudden death in the family, Mr. E. L. Anderson, of West Point, Georgia, a 
son-in-law of Mr. R. A. Gaines. It will be remembered that Mr. Anderson was for 
some time a citizen of Lineville. In their dual affliction and sorrows Mr. 
Gaines and family have the profound sympathy of a large circle of friends and 
neighbors.
