The Gamell child was struck with a piece of wood which was thrown by his brother at a mule. Apr-1922 Gay Gamel, the 16-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Gamel, died at their home a short distance east of Ashland Sunday night after a brief illness. He was stricken with appendicitis a few days ago and on Saturday submitted to a surgical operation in an effort to save his life, but it failed to prove successful. Master Winston Gavin Gamel, son of Rev. and Mrs. W. R. Gamel was born July 28, 1906, and died at his father's home, about one mile east of Ashland, on the 17th of April 1922, after about a week's illness. He was buried at Providence church, near Delta. Funeral services were conducted by the writer. He was converted at Shiloh church in August 1919, during revival services. He had never joined any church but gave the brightest evidence of his future happiness. He was conscious up until the last and called his parents to his bedside and told them he was going to die and that all was well with him, and so he died. To us it seems that his death was premature, but to God it is not so. In the few years he had filled his mission and rounded out his life. God, seeing it was best, he permitted the death stroke to come and remove him from earth to heaven. To the family especially his death is sad, but those who believe in God and his word, knows that it is all for the best. So may Him that doeth all things well give the blessings to them that they are so much need in the sad hour of trouble. W. M. Garrett. Additional Comments: Children of Rev. Wm R.
