Gann, 78 years of age, of Anniston, one of Delta's lifelong residents except for the past few months, who passed away at The Lineville Memorial Hospital, Saturday morning. George, as he was familiarly called, was a good neighbor and friend to all, noted for his kindness, genial disposition and generous hospitality to his many relatives and friends and especially to his devoted son, Arthur and wife, and his sister, Mrs. Ed Daniel, of Atlanta, who will miss him. George had only been home a few days when he was taken suddenly ill and rushed to the hospital. Sincerest sympathy is extended the lost of bereaved ones. Relatives from a distance attending his funeral were: Joe, John, and George B. Gann and families of Anniston. His funeral was conducted at Delta Baptist Church, Sunday afternoon by a visiting pastor, assisted by Rev. Gilbert Daugherty and he was laid to rest in Delta Cemetery.
