She was born Dec. 5, 1854 and was married to I. H. Garrett Aug. 25. 1871. There was born to this union ten children of which eight or living. She joined the Baptist church at Mt. Moriah at an early age and has since lived a consistent member. She suffered extensively six weeks before she died, yet I have never seen anyone suffer so patiently. It was so hard to give mother up, so hard to say goodbye. Thy will be done, and not ours. She expressed herself as being ready and willing to go, her only regret was to leave father alone, her great desire was for her children and grandchildren to live so as to follow her to that home eternal. But we must weep not for her as one who had no hope, we know that she will rise again an incorruptible body, over which the second death will have no power and somewhere near the throne of God, a mansion in grandeur, the most magnificent palace ever constructed is awaiting her. So let us be ready when the summons comes, to join her in that celestial city not made with hands. Oh, how we'll miss her smiling face, that brightened up the old home out we shall soon on high where we'll never say good-bye. Her remains were laid to rest in the Mt. Moriah cemetery. funeral services were conducted by Rev's. R. R. Layton and F. J. Ingram. Geo. C.
