Alexander City Outlook
The many friends of C. T. Gilbert will regret to learn of his sudden death which 
occurred last Wednesday while eating his dinner. Mr. Gilbert was born in 
Tallapoosa County Sept. 26th, 1884 where he had lived all his life. Besides his 
widow, Mrs. Cora E. Gilbert, he is survived by nine children. 2 sons, Elbert and 
Eldridge, both at home; 7 daughters, Mrs. Orine Kilgore, Alexander City, Mrs. 
Ellie Autry, Childersburg, Mrs. Neva Jones, Alexander City, Mrs. Hazel King, 
Alexander City, Miss Helen Gilbert, Mountain, and Mrs. Elsie Hamlet of Alexander 
City. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from Bethany Baptist Church at 
2 p. m. Interment in adjoining cemetery. Sam Anderson in charge. Pallbearers 
were Ellie Autry, Royal Kilgore, Lewis King, Willard Jones, Gaylord Hamlet and 
Buster Gilbert.
