It is alleged that he was struck on the head with a pistol inflicting a severe wound. He appeared to improve for a while but on account of serious symptoms in his case the trip to Atlanta to consult specialists was decided upon a few days ago. The remains were returned funeral services were held Wednesday morning interment was made the Lineville cemetery. He leaves a wife and two children. Dec 17, 1919, Our Mountain Home: Jim White, who was charged with the killing of Bryant Giles, was tried in the circuit court here this week, charged with murder in the first degree. The jury gave a verdict Wednesday it being manslaughter in the first degree and penalty fixed at five years in the penitentiary. White struck Giles in the head with a pistol causing concussion from which he died about six weeks later in Atlanta, where he had been carried for treatment. White's attorneys will appeal the case to the supreme court.
